I find myself wondering the same, GZ. Frankly, I am rather shocked by jlallen's position. Most conservatives do not harbor those feelings and views. How can a man become so consumed with white-guilt over imagined crimes that he never committed? How weak-minded must one be to succumb to that? Like you, I have never owned a slave, nor did my parents, grandparents, or great-grandparents. I honestly don't know if my great-great-grandparents did or not, nor do I care. What reflection would that have on me if they did? Absolutely none. I'm not responsible for anyone living does, and I damn sure am not responsible for what long-since dead people from the 19th century may or may not have done. No one alive today has ever been a slave and I do not owe Blacks a damn thing. I deeply resent being told that I do and I find it highly offensive. The more that Blacks have their own special-interest clubs and special rights showered on them based on skin color, the more admonishment, condemnation, and ridicule I will heap on the entirely one-sided racist process without apology or regret.
