Why is Bernanke a disaster? What are you comparing him against with what happened in the past. This country have never been in the situation it was in Dec 2008. Collapse of banks, 2 million jobs lost in a month!!! And Bernanke at the helm at that time!!!! No Fed chairman had to face a similar situation before. And it is to his and Obama's credit that in spite of that situation then, we are now on a path to recovery. The situation then was also aggravated by the unnecessary ground wars on two fronts. It is heinous that some would hope for and sow the seed of fear by saying things like "a second recession is on its way", "there is some conspiracy in the numbers" etc. We are not seeing anything like that happening. Instead the trend line is on the way up similar to what happened during the time Reagan sought reelection. except that during that time we did not hear stories of doom and gloom from the party in opposition at that time.
