Truman was a disaster. Everybody hated him. Nobody wanted him. He was a monument to mediocrity. He started the Korean War, ran it into defeat, and fired one of our greatest generals. Then he got lucky and ran against a Republican who was even more out of touch and unloved than he was. Guy named Thomas Dewey, who was a technocrat with the personality of a ripe lemon. Truman also was able to demonize a Republican Congress. Remind you of any similar situations, and I don't mean LBJ?
