We could have a debate about whether it is "inflation" or not... when prices rise because things actually become more scarce than they used to be ? Probably not topical here, other than to address the element of that not really mattering, still, in terms of gold and silver tending to sustain their purchasing power relative to other goods and services... at least when the issue is inflation, rather than increased scarcity.

I'll gladly point out that while I'm bullish on gold and silver, I still think of "oil" as "the new silver"... but, not all that new, actually...

Lots of interesting divergences to watch for, now, between various commodities and the dollar... and/or other currencies... all of which is worth watching closely.

I also don't think that the FACT that inflation isn't doing what many expected that it would by now... means that they're actually wrong in expecting it... and the lack of hyper inflation is certainly not a reason that people should have some larger measure of faith in government policy...

Instead, it means that the reason you don't see it... shows you more about the problems that exist... that a lot of people would rather that we just not talk about..
