It's funny how TJ bans criticism of China but goes hammer and tongs against the Mighty USA, drooling with anticipation. You can dicker over details, but China is fascist - extended definition here: en.wikipedia.org

Which is why swarms of people want to get their money OUT and themselves too. Nobody is busting in.

"Power grows out of the barrel of a gun" - Chairman Mao and the foundation of the fascist state of China. Mao is still vastly venerated with only a bit of genuflection to a few minor mistakes.

Hong Kong is a temporary haven. Hong Kong and special economic zone status will be used as bait to fool Taiwanese into giving up Taiwan and freedom to rejoin subjugation. Which is not to say people are free in Taiwan or USA but in many ways that count, there is a lot more of it.

Meanwhile, there are vast debts stacked on debts with Europe and USA spending on BIG GOVERNMENT and BIG BROTHER in hugely greater amounts than does China. So paradoxically, China is much more free than USA/Euroserfs.

2012 could see some interesting sorting out, starting with the gathering armies around Iran. The free world is bit sick of Islamic Jihad which was fun for a while but bankruptcy makes people irritable. CO2 is getting short shrift too as a result. Playing games with CO2 is fun while there's loads of money but bankruptcy makes 20cm of sea level in 100 years not of much interest today.
