<<The outcomes associated with the stimulus were communicated while in office, not while running. But either way, the word is still accountability. Obama does not get a free ride by just saying, "well, that's politics!" The buck never stops on Obama's desk. Nothing is ever his fault.
I am a hard core liberal who has been very critical of Obama and actually was banned from a couple of liberal threads (just for questioning Obama with the same observations you post) as several here can tell you (they have since removed the bans). He did leave we liberals at the alter and he did run a center left campaign in response to bush's right wing administration which people had had a enough of. But then he moved to the center on the advice of Gibbs and Rahm to position himself for reelection.
But, I am an old man now, and in 50 years never once voted for a Republican. And for good reason, IMO. If you go back 90 years to Teddy Roosevelt (the last progressive Republican) when the librals changed from Republican to the Democratic party (Lincoln was a liberal Republican) you will see it has consistently been the democratic party which pushed our civilzation forward, fought the robber barrons and took care of the average person; and the Republcian party which has always taken care of the rich and wanted to live in the past.
To the point, Obama's actual policies are what matter in the end and he has done a lot of things I really agree with and is a very intelligent moderate president.
God forbid, we end up with Santroum's wanting to outlaw contraception, or Ron Paul wanting to do away with the New Deal, social security and medicar, or all of them wanting to start a war with Iran, or Perry, Cain's and Bachman's lack of understanding, or Romney who would be a poster boy for the every rich and send the supreme court even further to the right.
Actual policy is what is important. I am very happy Obama ended don't ask don't tell and doesn't bash gays like the Republcian's do, and Obama switching the militaries emphasis from the middle east to China, and working for a new consumer protection agency, etc.
Just my opinion. |
