All of you critics who would rather live in a world where Microsoft is not a major factor can never seem to explain how Microsoft's products have been detrimental to the computing industry. Microsoft has been a much needed unifying force for many years. Their leadership has allowed the average consumer to buy software (from any company) that will be compatible, and their top-notch products have been benchmarks by which other packages are judged. When Microsoft starts to slack off in the innovation and quality departments, I might become a critic. Until then, Microsoft is an American corporation, entitled to defend its turf. Other companies can be critical, but they'd be lying if they said they wouldn't like to be in Microsoft's position.
