I was recently visiting a friend in Three Rivers, TX...ground zero for the Eagle Ford play. It is nothing short of amazing what has happened to that area. Local motels have permanent No Vacancy signs. Companies are resorting to "pods" placed on ranch land to house workers. You would think the only color of a truck is white...company trucks are EVERYWHERE. It is a boom town area like you can't believe. I heard a story of a woman who rents out a room in her house for $150 a night. It's difficult to find land suitable for apartment building due to lack of an adequate water supply. My son is heading down there tomorrow to see about finding a job...this is a boom that has just begun. Here is an interesting article on the topic: chron.com big
