FWS -- When you compare QCOM and INTC, you are comparing a fabless semiconductor company with one that has superior technology in its own fabrication facilities. That may be a partial answer to your uneasiness when looking at Qualcomm's future.

Does this imply that QCOM needs its own fabrication facilities? Or does it suggest that QCOM should be more like ARM and license its own designs to enable others to produce products like Snapdragon? I don't know the answer, but I agree that the company that owns by far the largest proportion of patents for wireless communication should have a better outlook than just another run-of-the-mill producer.
