Here’s my rationale for tracking foreign stocks on their primary exchange. I post an update of the Contest Top Ten pretty much every week. If a stock has a significant move, up or down, on its primary exchange, but hasn’t had a Pink Sheet trade, the move won’t be reflected in the portfolio(s) holding that stock. So, the Top Ten list may not be an accurate reflection of contestant portfolio performance.
Similarly, the weekly Top & Bottom stock performance tables I post weekly could be inaccurate when a stock has a big move on its primary exchange that’s not reflected on the Pink Sheets because it didn’t trade there.
I should add that at my brokers, I use the Pink Sheet symbol to place foreign stock trades but the order is automatically routed to the primary foreign exchange. So the trade never even shows up on the Pink Sheet trading history.
However, as noted in my prior post, I’ll switch back to the Pink Sheet symbol for Medivir unless a majority of those posting on the issue strongly object. I’ll wait until Thursday for feedback and decide what to do then.
Peace & good health,
Bulba
