Sherrod Brown has no influence on state policy. He may well be gone. A very successful young Marine veteran of Iraq, Josh Mandel, is running against him. Do not forget the greatest Ohio loon of all - Dennis "the menace" Kucinich. His district was merged with that of D incumbent Marcy Kaptur. Their fate will be decided in the primary. All branches of state government are Republican and the economic gennie of job creation is out of the bottle.

It is interesting how the papers now have occasional pictures of drilling rigs and the like. Maybe we will become Texas east with the Utica oil.

Of special note - and I have said this before - the Utica development is in an area of the state that has been economically depressed for an extended time - think Youngstown. This is a very good thing for that area of the state. I am happy for those people. The deserve an economic break.
