In spite of my agreement with Nadine that Newt's values and views on the issues are those that I would most prefer to have in a president (hope I'm not misrepresenting her views), I reluctantly am forced to agree with Simon on what Gingrich has done to himself.

In any event, it's irrelevant now. It's over, and Romney (hopefully President Romney in a year) will be campaigning for the Republican party for the next 10-odd months. The sooner the rest of the candidates drop out and issue statements of support for him, the better off for the election campaign.

The run for the nomination has been the spark for lots of commentary here for many months. Our emphasis going forward is likely to be more "beat Obama" and issue-based.
