Plus, if a new version corrupts your file, going back to old version might be problematic as in "uninstall, was old version full install or upgrade?-does the upgrade disks work by itself, finding old disks, Intuit does not support the updates-anymore-and-yes-the-old-version-was-updated-zillion-times, etc".

Possibly it would just be a headache and not complete loss. I'd rather avoid it for as long as possible.

But, yes, backup early, backup often. :)
