Medivir pricing: Here’s what I ‘ve come up with as a fair and reasonable resolution of the Medivir pricing issue:
1) I’ll set the initial Medivir price using the Pink Sheet 12/19/11 close of $9.22. Using $9.22 instead of the somewhat higher Stockholm exchange year-end & early January closing prices means MCBIO & DEWDIL each get a few more Medivir shares in their portfolio (48.85 shares for MCBIO & 111.35 shares for DEWDIL). However, the odds are extremely low such extra shares will have a significant bearing on the ranking of MCBIO’s & DEWDIL’s portfolios when the Contest ends.
2) I’ll use the Stockholm Exchange Medivir trades (under the symbol, MVIR-B.ST) to track its performance through the year. Trading in Medivir is far more active in Stockholm than on the Pink Sheets, so Stockholm data will much better reflect Medivir’s current stock price.
3) I thought Robert’s suggestion (Post # 133) was excellent. So, at the conclusion of the Contest, in the unlikely event it appears that the way Medivir was priced would significantly impact the ranking of MCBIO’s & DEWDIL’s portfolios, I’ll post their performance numbers using both the Stockholm & Pink Sheet data. We can then revisit the issue of which pricing method is more appropriate for determining the final Contest rankings.
Peace & good health,
Bulba
