Nowadays I seriously update Quicken once two-three months. I do online update once a month since some stupid banks (cough, cough Chase) only provide 30 days worth of info, but do a full update/reconcile once in 2-3 months. This means all salaries, CCs, all bank accounts, all brokerage accounts, ESPPs, mortgage, the whole shebang. Takes me 2-4 hours depending on complications (some CCs don't auto-update and you have to put in numbers by hand, some accounts don't reconcile cleanly, stock splits, ESPPs take time to input correctly, etc.). Still too much time spent IMHO.

Obviously I do not use Quicken to track/watch my stocks day-to-day.
