Yes, the Times article was much better, but in defense of the WSJ they beat the times with the story by a day (giving the result) and after scanning/skimming the DOJ opinion itself I did see that a journalist would be hard pressed to find a hook in there--especially a reporter without legal training.

I'm both a pre and post Murdoch subscriber to the Journal and have not noted any discernible difference in the way its editorials and opinions are conducted/slanted. It was more or less a free market low tax advocate prior to Murdoch and that hasn't changed.

ON the political front inasmuch as the Democrat/WH view of things comes with spin--naturally--it helps (me) to get the back spin of the same for balance and that's the role the WSJ provides me.

Additionally, its reports on business are as good as the Times on general stuff, IMHO.
