We have a nice Toshiba TV in the living room..............older model, but flat screen and HD with very nice picture..................but the speakers are absolutely horrible. We have to turn the sound up so high to understand the dialogue I think doing so is causing us to go deaf. I've often said we should hook it up to some external speakers, and I do have a pair of computer speakers upstairs that would work.........although they are cheapies, and don't have a connection for a subwoofer. Maybe we'll try them out today just to see if that helps. It is apparent to me that TV manufacturers haven't kept up with changing technology. I swear they're still using the same speakers they used in the '80s.
