Except for the closing of the Straits, which I think unlikely, agree completely. Ron Paul could have changed the thrust of history, but it's too late now. His message is getting across, finally, but we have incurred too much debt, printed too much money, and become too inured to the loss of liberty to make any difference now. We were too debt and credit-addled, 'prosperous', to see what was slowly happening to us. His achievement: washingtonpost.com 2012 will be a very interesting year.
