It's not that they were banned - they were busy making tanks and military weapons under contract - sort of like the Rock Ola M1 carbines and IBM carbines that were made instead of jukeboxes and typewriters. A redirection of manufacturing effort is not the same as a ban - once the war ended or contracts were met, production shifted. The incandescent bulb is not dangerous - if was being phased out for stupid green reasons.
