I would appreciate it if either one of you would address the basic point I posed earlier.
Whites do not enjoy the same freedoms and liberties under the Constitution that Blacks enjoy.
As I pass through the checkout lane at the grocery, I see Ebony magazine, Essence magazine, and Jet magazine. I have no problem with these, per se. However, if there were an Ivory magazine and Snow White magazine occupying the space next to the Black magazines, there would be a national outcry of racism until the grocer conceded and stop carrying the "White racist filth." It wouldn't end there either. Civil lawsuits would be forthcoming against the grocer. The chain could also face discrimination lawsuits from the government.
Likewise, I see a Congressional Black Caucus, Miss Black America, a United Negro College Fund, Black Entertainment Television, and affirmative action laws all dedicated to the special interests of Blacks.
Would a Congressional White Caucus, Miss White America, United Caucasian College Fund, White Entertainment Television ever be acceptable? Of course not, because those are regarded as "racist".
My direct question to you is the same general one that jlallen was unable to answer: "Why is it that only Whites are punished for perceived racism?" |
