struck home how? home in a state like s. ca? let's get real here.....the audience he was pandering to is full of white religious conservatives and yes, of that group there are indeed a fair amount of religious and racial bigots, so yeah newt was deftly pandering to them, he is facile with his rhetoric to be sure, i'll give him that.... do you think his line about handing brooms to students and taking over handing brooms to 'poor' kids rich kids janitor positions (what? no rich kids need apply sounds like affirmative action to me) would get a standing O in states like pennsylvania, florida, ohio, missouri? of course not
