The only reason we had WWII was because 5 empires died at once, three countries decided to fight for supremacy.

Empires that died in the first decade 20th Century:
Qing dinasty, British, Habsburgs, Ottoman and Romanoff empires

Three countries that vied for position:
Japan, Germany, USA

No BRIC is jockeying for position. They just want to trade. Trading nations are not warlike.
