Paul reminds me of a radical left wing professor who pontificates theories in the classroom and wants to enact them in pure form in the public sphere. The real world is not a laboratory. In the real world libertarian models of the kind Paul exposes are impracticable. His inability to balance the responsibility America has toward world peace as the only superpower, is a part of that theory/reality conflict. Paul would gut the U.S. military if he could, and in doing so would help ensure a band of pirate ships could invade New Zealand. In Paul's vision there is no need for an American Navy. After all, why project power around the world when doing so enrages so many enemies of America.
