I was caught both short _and_ long yesterday afternoon in positions that I intended to close out, which is a _very_ uncomfortable situation. I was up until midnight and up again at 5AM to watch how Tokyo did. It was just pure dumb luck that the tech stocks I had shorted dropped and the my longs rallied today. Now I'm thinking twice before I short. Will I be able to cover during the slide and before the rally? It's not going to be nearly as much fun to short YHOO on those sucker rallies if I have to worry about being able to make covering buys when I want.
