His statement that he pays 15 percent gets no votes. It only opens him up to ridicule and criticism. When asked what rate he pays, he simply should have stated he pays regular income tax rates on his earned income and capital gains tax rates on his capital gains. Period. As far as releasing his returns goes, he simply should have stated that his 2011 return is not completed yet and when it is, he'll release it. Who is advising him?
