I admit that i didn't expect him to reject it. I guess he doesn't like a shovel-ready project that isn't funded by the taxpayers. Also it is a national security issue which will resonate as much as the lost jobs.

Choices are illuminating, as they say. This shows that Obama's environmentalist base comes first, when push comes to shove. Axelrod must have told him they don't have a hope if the base sits on its hands in November.
