Gingrich is toast for every reason you've mentioned, Bill. I'll be voting for Mitt Romney in the general election. He represents the best opportunity to beat Obama. The big question is what comes after Mitt in 2016 and 2020? By then, the Black, Hispanic, Muslim, and gay populations will be even higher, and most of the them will be Democrats. The conservative White population will be lower and hoping to squeeze in a ultra-moderate Republican who won't offend too many Blacks, Browns, Muslims, and gays. The multicultural future looks grim for conservative Whites. -ng-
