Romney is not a liberal, even though he's done some liberal things in the past. At worst he's a social moderate and a fiscal conservative.

Newt is a big government republican. He doesn't know how to combine agencies or realign resources. He knows only how to cut deals and exert his authority. And his temperament is not suited to be a CIC. He is far too rash and emotional to be trusted with such power.
