I thought everybody did well tonight, but give the win to Newt because of his boffo hammering of John King. If Ron Paul sounded as sane at all times as he did tonight (there was little discussion of foreign affairs), he would be a serious candidate. Paul played to his audience, who insisted he be included on the abortion question; Paul deadpanned "after all, it's a medical question and I am a doctor." Santorum spoke forcefully and well, calling himself the conviction conservative. Newt overflowed with ideas, as usual. Romney also spoke well; but that wasn't good enough for a win tonight.
