Sorry about the typo. You make a good argument against a merger which probably won't happen anyway. I have had rk and frankly can't find words in the English language to describe how happy I am after 23 years or red eyes, irritation, lost contacts, etc. I think others feel the same and word of mouth will build momentum. I would have opt for prk if it would have been available 4 yrs ago. My wife went to her othamologist for a screening. She is a good candidate but got the distinct impression he didn't want to do and he owns a Summit machine along with several other docs! This is why I am still bullish on Summit because they are going after the consumer. There is a great book called "Being Digital" that talks about future technology and how it is going to alter several professions including medicine and law. PRK is an excellent example.

Finally, the astigmatism issue is big one if it is true that Visx has superior technology to Summit's erodable mask. Summit, of course, doesn't believe their technology is inferior, just different. I don't know and want to know more about that.
Best regards.
