I'm not going to re-purpose this thread, lets just say I prefer technologies that have lower costs, longer lifespans, and higher reliability. When you have to pay for software development with real money you want to achieve the highest return on your investment. This includes costs such as sourcing staff, support costs, risks to business and reputation, and management costs as well.
