His veto threat is there for issues that affect people the most; extension of tax cuts for the middle class. Besides, this is an issue that 20% of the dems agree with the Republicans on. so what good would a veto do. Who would want to come across during this election year and one who does not support the internal security of the country.

Jobs are number one and un til people get jobs they need some financial assurance. And that is what Obama is fighting for; people's priority.
