Watched two half hour PBS shows featuring Bowles and Simpson of the Budget Deficit Reduction Commission. Scary stuff. We only really have another year to go before we have start shrinking the deficit otherwise our dollar and us are toast by 2020. What's scary is that even if the parties could get along with each is still going to be hard work. Paul is right to talk about the soundness of the dollar. That's the core issue from which all government policy should flow if we are to fix this mess. The other Republican candidates are not talking about this key issue--although Romney is a little bit with his business push as business can't successfully operate in a wildly inflationary environment.
