I believe he definitely thought about what he'd say ahead of the question (who wouldn't?) and he conveyed that thought right away. When he got to the second part of his answer (which I also believe he thought about in great detail) I immediately came to the conclusion that Marianne Gingrich probably has ongoing personal issues. I don't know if that is true, but it is what I took away from his comment. "Every person in here has known personal pain. Every person in here has had someone close to them go through painful things."
