I expect he probably did... (but giving appreciated stock is smarter than giving cash... 'cause it avoids the federal tax you would otherwise have to pay to the government if you tried to sell your stock to profit from it's appreciation... while it doesn't reduce the value that your church realizes by one whit. :-)

So, expect to see a significant cohort of *that* in the mix.
