I read the M. Fool piece; in particular I noted, "Rambus Inc. (Nasdaq:RMBS) , which was ignited by a glowing research update on the company. The information released yesterday by Hambrecht & Quist was not really new, but certain investors believed it to be new."

As I said in my post, anyone that did even minimal research knew this information ref INTC and RMBS over a year ago. Which is the jist of what M. Fool says as well. However, until the H&Q report yesterday- no one as far as I know had come out and actually had the guts to put some monetary projections down on paper. Be the H&Q analysis right or wrong - those projections and $3+ a share eps is new news. The report is a value added product in my mind, not simply a rehash of old news as stated my the M. Fool.

So, I'm not sure how accurate the M. Fool piece is or how closely the author of the piece follows RMBS. I also found the overall tone of the article interesting in light of the M. Fool IOM connection and all that it has meant over the past couple of years.

The whole M. Fool thing is kind of a cutesy, feel good, schmaltzy palzy, little Gen X marketing gimmick to me. They exist, but I don't pay much attention to them or consider them much of an authority on anything when it comes to stock selection and valuation.
