Words have meaning: < Paul's philosophy is opposite that of Obama, but his ideological perspective is the same > Using surrealistic nonsense is pointless. What do you mean his ideological perspective is the same as Obama's? It is not. It's poles apart.
You need some education on what libertarians actually think because I don't know of any who think like that: <After all, according to libertarians, if everyone is doing business with one another, we'll all live in nirvana, because we care so much about trading with one another. Sounds great in a classroom environment, but impractical in the real world. > There are always criminals who believe in force and that might makes right and who prefer taking to creating, and have a zero-sum mentality. Unfortunately, the biggest such crime syndicates these days are the kleptocrats and their supporters who take opm for their personal use and self-aggrandisement.
Oh you poor things: < New Zealand taxpayers have been sucking off the American Navy's protection for decades, while simultaneously whining about nuclear powered submarines pulling into port for liberty*. >
Let me explain the harsh facts of life in geopolitics. If the USA wishes to defend some place, they will be defended whether they like it or not. If the USA wishes not to defend some place, they will not be defended, even if they request defence.. The USA acts in the interests of those in charge. It is not a charity club at the beck and call of countries whistling them up for a spot of defence.
The USA navy has not protected NZ since Japan busted out of sanctions and blockade 70 years ago. Contrary to what you might think, the Vietcong were not heading this way in sampans.
I must say, life is pretty good here: < Instead, the citizens live in fantasy land and pretend they don't need the protection. > How's it going over your way?
Vote Ron Paul and stop going down the gurgler. Mqurice
* What does "pulling into port for liberty" actually mean? Do you mean pulling into port for a holiday? |
