We live in a society. Our society, indeed democracy, needs an educated populace. That was a thesis put forth by no less than Thomas Jefferson. If you don't believe in the good of an educated person for their sake, think of it as being for the societies sake!!

Recent research published in either Newsweek or Time (can't remember) said for every dolloar spent on pre school society got back $60 to $300 in lower crime and more production.

We need free education from pre schoool through PHD.

And for those who say we cannot afford it, I repeat "how do the other countries do it?"

I keep hearing there is wastefull spending. There is little wasteful spending. That is another right wing myth to keep from funding edication.

The neo cons have been tearing down the public school system for 40 years.

Right now the richest people are able to afford the best educations and that plays right into the hands of the elite and plutocrats. We need to get as many kids educated as we can!

90% of all kids can get through college with a little work.
