You would be wrong in doing that.
Dems use logic and facts much more than Republican's, who use myth and script more in their decision making.
That is why according to a recent PEW poll, 80% of scientist's lean Democratic, 51% call themselves liberal and only 6% are Republicans. Because scientists are trained to think using facts and logic and testing, so how can they be a Republican?
The difference between the parties is in how they think.
Here is an example. Take gay marriage which is a simple case of reason.
Liberals/Dems, know gays are born that way and so have a right to their civil right to get married.
Conservatives/Pubs usually think being gay is a personal decision and so vilify it, and if they did believe gays are born that way, then forbidding them to marry is an even worse crimefor denying them their civil rights, although that thought would probably be lost on them.
So, conservatives cannot defend their psotion logically, so they just throw out things like defense of marriage.
Conservatives throw out lots of shit e.g. government is bad, or teachers are over paid, or the unemployed are lazy, and on and on, none of it substantiated by science or logic. |
