<<Having something in the house that is alive other than yourself is a good thing.

I have a plant named Harry, but it is pretty quiet. I don't know the gender and being a liberal I don't care..

Yes, I didn't realize how aware I was of her presence, or how much companionship she provided. For the last 10 years she was my primary companion.

I have a duplex on a large forested lot with huge spruce trees and I live upstairs. I put winows all around so it is sort of like a treehouse. She liked to lay on top of the cable box (warm) and look out in the yard all night. I would leave the porch ight on so she could see the animals that would come by. I think she felt she was also guarding the house while I slept because in the morning when I got up she would go to the couch and sleep.

I sure miss her.
