Updated LTE scorecard for Q4

1.6 million LTE smartphones activated at Verizon (out of 2.3 million total LTE devices). No sense so far of other 3G smartphones sales, other than the iPhone (which sold 4.3 million units). The 1.6 million LTE smartphones sold are split between 9 handsets ranging from $50 to $300, including among them, no less than 4 "iPhone killers."

Verizon added 1.6 million LTE smartphones in the fourth quarter as well as 700,000 LTE data devices. Shammo said the company's fourth-quarter promotion of doubling LTE smartphone customers' data allowances drove LTE smartphone adoption.
