Polar Bear,
That Biotech Rumor Mill is a good site. I forgot about it for
awhile but started reading it again. Do you get the weekly emails
with the full content of all the Mill postings that Martin Leach
sends out? I think my email files are stuffed with back issues of them.

There's some more discussion of Antigenics recently:

The key question with antigenics is what kind of a
product wil they end up with? The scheme is an
autologous transplant of modified HSP to alert to
immune system to tumor cells. But that means
there will be a different treatment for each patient,
which sound more like surgery than a
drug-in-a-bottle moneyspinner. Also check out their
funding structure: largely high net worth (ie
non-expert) individuals rather than VCs.

This company is backed by Garo Armen out of
New York who was recently acting as chairman
and CEO. I am not sure what his longer term plans
for managing this company is but I don't believe
that Afeyan is involved. The company previously
leased lab space from PBIO in Framinham,
however.
The heat shock protein/antigen technology
concept has been built up quite nicely by a group
out of U. Conn. Med. School in Farmington.
This one sounds exciting to me but I presume that
that principal scientist out of U.Conn. will be
conducting the truely interesting research in his lab
with the company focused on nuts and bolts
development.
They are still private with at least one human trial
currently under way I believe.
