Tim you should be ashamed of yourself. That is beneath you I would hope. You know full well those Democratic votes came from "Dixiecrates in the South who switched to the Republican party right after the 1964 civil rights act they were so mad about INTEGRATION!

Imagine being angry about a law that was about treating people with basic human decency. Is that soemthing they wou dteach their kids. Racism? Really?

You cannot stand on the facts, so you have to resort to trickery. Well, that isn't even smart or subtle trickery. Every liberal has run across that trick of yours a thousand times. It is as old as the hills.

It is like claiming Lincoln as a Republican knowing full well, the Republican party in 1860 was the liberal party and Lincon was a liberal. He would have been a Democrat today!

Liberals stood with the African American to end slavery, and they stood with the African American to end segregation and we stand with the African American today for justice.

And that is why blacks vote over 90% Democratic in every election!

Why did you leave out the part about region? I assume that was a mistake so here it is:

By party and region Note: "Southern", as used in this section, refers to members of Congress from the eleven states that made up the Confederate States of America in the American Civil War. "Northern" refers to members from the other 39 states, regardless of the geographic location of those states.

The original House version:

  • Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7%–93%)
  • Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0%–100%)
  • Northern Democrats: 145-9 (94%–6%)
  • Northern Republicans: 138-24 (85%–15%)
The Senate version:

  • Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5%–95%)
  • Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0%–100%)
  • Northern Democrats: 45-1 (98%–2%)

<<Your own data shows that Republicans voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964 more than Democrats did.

For / Against / Percent for

    House Democrats - 152 / 96 / 61.3%
    House Republicans - 138 / 34 / 80.2%
    Senate Democrats - 46 / 21 / 68.7%
    Senate Republicans - 27 / 6 / 81.8%

(not that its significant, but to get to an even tenth all the Republican figures are rounded down, while the Democratic figures are rounded up)

Now its true that voting against that act != racist, and voting for it is not incompatible with being racist, so your chosen standard isn't the best one, but using that standard the Democrats were the racist party.
