Richard Russell notes that gold is nailed at 1,666

We have
- middle east / gulf tension - check
- 'high' - oil - check
- 'high' gold - check
- run-away price inflation - nope
- rising rates - nope

Not quite the good Old days of '70s

Volcker would not be able to raise rates today as he did yesterday, because the USA government would do a Greek moment at rate of 10%

Team USA must print, then print more, and keep printing

Japan, at trade deficit, and worshipping trade surplus, should have an interesting 2012.

We must tap the energy of gold, leverage its optionality, to get still more gold, and make the exercise a self sustaining one of virtuous circularity.

Joe Granville thinks it is game on for Dow 4,000. Let us watch n brief to see if he is correct.
