I agree AA is racist. Or at least no longer needed.

I am not going to opine on if it is needed or not - I will say that it is pushed really hard by the federal government. I worked for one of the largest financial institutions in this country (in a subsidiary) and one of my units did all the entry level hiring for an organization of 2000 that had about 10% turnover per year. We had to meet minimum federal standards (due to federal contracts) on minority hiring and were subject to ongoing audits by the parent company and EEOC. I was given quotas of 1/3 non-white and 1/2 non-male (I exceeded both). I once was told that I wasn't doing very well on "alternative lifestyles" to which I asked "How would I know?"

Back in the 70's I was one of the first manager's at my firm to hire and promote women and minorities. I always tried to hire and promote the best people without regard to how they looked. I didn't feel very clean in the new world but i did what i was told....
