mq, the logical failure in your binary au vs. high tech argument is exactly that - the fact that it is binary, depending on a quashing of one in favor of the other. what you don't seem to recognize is that both can live together and in fact are, witness the fact that you and i are discussing the very subject in what is essentially real time...i am using high tech for all it's worth in my business and private life all while owning gold. gold owners are not luddites or barbarous or atavistic. we simply see a significant part of our financial life in a different light than you do, thus far successfully. this of course does not mean that you cannot manage your own financial life just as successsfully, investing in whatever makes you happy and rich.
