Zax, you may as well just say "Apple = Evul" and "Apple = BAD" while rolling on the floor laughing your foolish ass off, for all the critical thinking that post exposes.
You're ignoring Apple's real efforts to improve conditions in their overseas factories. One of the main reasons we know about those conditions is the fact that Apple has been doing their own investigations and reports on them. Apple has become progressively more open in doing so, and have been leaders within the industry in that regard.
They didn't create the situation on their own. They are not by any means the only large and powerful company taking advantage of the situation in China, where so many millions of young people are desperate for any kind of employment, to increase their profit margins.
Apple really doesn't have the power to just fix the problem all by itself. They're making an effort, but HP, Dell, Nokia, Samsung, Lenovo, Sony, Amazon, etc., all need to step up as well, if we are all really serious about doing something. And the Chinese people have a government, too. Particularly in a socialist environment, I believe the government should bear a great deal of the responsibility in protecting the workers.
This isn't something that changes overnight with a wave of Tim Cook's hand.
