1/27/12 Contest Update The Roche bid for Illumina lit a fire under biotechs and Amgen’s munch of Micromet further pumped the 10 Contest portfolios holding MITI. At Friday’s close, the NBI was up 10.94% YTD (vs. up 8.32% YTD a week ago) and the Contest median was up 12.78% YTD (vs. up 7.99% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 8.11% YTD (vs. up 6.97% YTD a week ago). Another terrific week for PGO’s portfolio, which now leads the Contest with an astounding 30.61% YTD gain for just a single month. Not too shabby are the gains of second place BRAD’s portfolio, up 23.34% YTD, and third place DOUGH’s portfolio, up 21.82% YTD. At Friday's close, 37 of the 38 Contest portfolios were in the black with 22 of the 38 beating the NBI. Below is the Top Ten list.
