I ordered this book, written by a correspondent on the Authors, Books, and Comments thread, Thomas C. Danisi. It reveals new research discoveries that illuminate and resolve very old arguments. It's called "Uncovering the Truth about Meriwether Lewis." When I've had the chance to read it, I'll write a review. For about 40 years I've believed that someday we will turn up a journal written by one of the Corps of Discovery that was previously unknown. The Captains encouraged their men to keep journals. No known journal exceeds their own, but Patrick Gass's book came out before theirs--much to their discomfort. amazon.com
