I presume these environmentalists are rich bastards like Romney. They have so much money that they do not need to work. While Romney is making money by pushing money, these environmentalists are even worse in that they are pushing their pet political ideologies on the backs of the unemployed.

Edit: I take offense to this characterization because I have been the one most posting anti-Keystone material here. If you felt this way, posting this nastiness in the middle of the night and not addressed to me is pure cowardice, Chinu.

FWIW, I never thought for one second that Chinu's post was directed at you. I am surprised you took it that way.

And I think its important to note that most liberals........if not all, are environmentalists. However, like in any subset, there are varying degrees. Right now, here in WA state, there is a big battle over the exporting of MT coal to China thru a WA state port. Everything has been done to mitigate against any coal dust being exposed to the air during transport and export.........covered cars and covered facilities at the port. Yet, some environmentalists are fighting it diligently. Why? They don't believe coal should be used as a fuel source. And it doesn't matter that China will use coal whether they get it from MT or Russia.

As an environmentalist, I disagree with their position..........because of the economics involved. We need port jobs in WA state..........they pay semi skilled workers a good pay. MT is a poor state.........it needs the revenue. Those workers and that state can't eat principle and purist ideology..........and I can understand their frustration with the position of the environmentalists.

Protecting the environment is extremely important but there has to be some flexibility or we run the risk of hurting ourselves economically.
